Introducing Worklight

Today I'm excited to announce the official launch of Worklight, a brand new project management app designed for distributed teams. Worklight was born out of my experience working as a remote web developer, where I learned first-hand the unique challenges that working across geographies and time zones bring. I'd tried just about every tool out there on the market to help, but nothing ever quite clicked for me. So instead, I decided to build my own.

When your team is spread out across the globe, effective communication becomes a significant challenge. It can be difficult to make sure everyone is on the same page, and the lack of face-to-face contact means it can be difficult to gauge how your teammates are doing.

That's where Worklight comes in. It has everything you'd expect to help you manage your projects, like task boards and discussions. But it goes even further; with features like working hours and timezone support, you can easily keep your colleagues in sync, making asynchronous collaboration a breeze. Each person on your team gets their own status bar, which not only indicates their 'online' or 'away' status but also acts as a progress bar so you can quickly determine how far they are into their day. And if it's about to come to an end, their status bar will turn red, letting you know to save that next big task for them for tomorrow.

Standups are also streamlined with our status updates. Throughout your day, you can update your status to log whatever you're working on, whether that be a specific task or something more freeform like answering emails. Each day these updates get rolled up into the Daily Briefing so that you can get an automatic report of everyone's progress at a glance.

Worklight is launching today with a single, simple plan of $7 per active user per month. It's easy to get started, sign up with the button below and enjoy a 14 day free trial with no card needed upfront.
